Wissen durch Störung. Das frühe Telefon in Bericht und Literatur

Autoren

Sabine Zelger,  Wien

On the basis of exemplary reports as well as literary passages from the early time of the telephone, the study shows how the knowledge about the telephone in its mediality, in its constraints/narrowness and openness is organized. The study goes further into the question whereupon spellings focus: on the creation or dismantlement of hierarchies specific to country and class, on subversive or commercial aspects, or on the withdrawal into a magic age, in which the acquired knowledge acts as a relic and produces fantastic scenarios.
