Ziel der Konferenz ist die Anregung von Forschungen und neuen Ansätzen zu spezifischen komparativen Themenbereichen innerhalb der südosteuropäischen Geschichte. Die Konferenz widmet sich den folgenden Unterthemen: Gesellschaften in Südosteuropa – das ottomanische Modell, die Habsburger Variante, "autonome" und "periphere" Gesellschaften, Südosteuropa in den Entscheidungsstrategien europäischer Mächte, Transformation der ottomanischen Gesellschaft, "Modernisierung" als ökonomische, kulturelle und mentale "Neuorientierung" in Südosteuropa.

Bewerbungsschluss ist der 15. Mai 2009.

 

The aim of the round table is to stimulate research in and new approaches to specific and comparative topics within the history of Southeastern Europe. It is dedicated to the following sub-themes: societies in Southeastern Europe – the Ottoman model, the Habsburg variant, "autonomous" and "peripheral" societies, the Southeast in the policy-making of the European powers, the transformation of Ottoman society, "modernization" as an economic, cultural and mental "re-orientation" in Southeastern Europe.
