The next kakanien -workshop – together with the Institute for German Philology at the Eötvös-Lorand-University in Budapest - takes place from the 1st to the 3rd of December, in Budapest, under the title Emergenzen am Rande/Medienkonfigurationen 1900/2000. For more information, see also the Editor’s blog.

My presentation will be about “Conflicts online“, with the Kosovo-conflict as main example; paricularly about how and if news and reports on the Internet, on mailing-lists etc., differ from the „classical“ newspaper-representations and interpretations. An abstract of the presentation will be posted here soon....

Meanwhile – as some sort of background information - , here’s a link to a very informative IPI publication from 1999 about the Kosovo war and the media: The Kosovo News and Propaganda War, ed. by Peter Goff and Barbara Trionfi (Table of Contents).
