The Turkish Cultural Foundation Fellowship Program was established in 2007 to provide support to students, researchers and scholars who have an interest in the art and culture of Turkey and studies related to the preservation of Turkey’s artistic and cultural heritage.
The mission of the TCF Fellowship Program is also to recognize and assist scholars, whose academic achievements and research reflect the commitment of the Turkish Cultural Foundation to disseminating knowledge about Turkey’s cultural heritage. The TCF Fellowship Program will award per year 10 Fellowships (USD 10,000) at the Ph.D. level and 5 Fellowships (USD 15,000) at the Post-doctoral level. Deadline for application: March 1, 2010.

Józef Tischner (1931–2000), one of the most eminent contemporary Polish philosophers and the first chaplain of Solidarność, was founding president of the IWM. In his memory, the Józef Tischner Fellowship has been granted to junior researchers from Poland and young Polish- American scholars since 2003. The fellowship is open to all academic disciplines in the Humanities and Social Sciences; research proposals related to one of the IWM ’s main fields are strongly encouraged.
Conditions

The Józef Tischner Fellow will be invited to spend a six-month term from July to December 2010 at the IWM to pursue her/his research project while working in residence. The fellow will receive a stipend in the amount of eur 9,000 to cover accommodation, living expenses, travel, health insurance and incidentals during the stay at the Institute. Furthermore, the IWM will provide an office, access to the internet, in-house research facilities and other relevant sources in Vienna. Deadline for applications: February 28, 2010.

The Paul Celan Fellowship program of the Insitute for Human Sciences (IWM), Vienna, supports East-West, West-East and East-East translations of canonical texts as well as contemporary key works in the Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Studies. Special emphasis is put on translations of relevant works written by East European authors and/or by female scholars. Application deadline: March 5, 2010.

The Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies and the Faculty of Oriental Studies in the University of Oxford seek a scholar to fill a new fixed-term position in Eastern European Jewish civilization. The Idel and Isaac Haase Fellowship has been established through a generous gift in order to promote study of the history, religion, literature or culture of the Jews of Eastern Europe up to the early 20th century.

The Hamburg International Graduate School for the Study of Regional Powers at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA), University of Hamburg invites applications for 8 Ph.D. scholarships starting 1 April 2010, for a duration of three years. The programme is open to young academics in the fields of international relations/international political economy and comparative area studies. The Center for the Humanities at Temple supports the work of talented new voices in interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching in the humanities and humanistic social sciences. Die VolkswagenStiftung und das Humanities Center der Harvard University schreiben im Rahmen einer 2007 für zunächst vier Jahre gestarteten Initiative weitere Annual Fellowships for Post-doctoral Research in the Humanities at The Humanities Center of Harvard University aus. Damit sollen jährlich bis zu vier hochqualifizierte Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen und -wissenschaftler aus deutschen Hochschulen die Möglichkeit erhalten, jeweils ein Jahr (beginnend September 2010) in einem attraktiven akademischen Umfeld geisteswissenschaftlich zu forschen und auf der Basis eines Auftaktworkshops fächerübergreifend Gesprächs- und Arbeitskontakte aufzubauen.
