A CfP is announced for the 1st International Middle-length Feature Film Festival GOLDEN WALNUT, which will be held from October 6th - 8th 2005 in Šabac, Serbia and Montenegro.
Deadline for submission is August 15th.
 

GOLDEN WALNUT is an international middle-length feature film festival. It is a competition of artistic movies made both on film and on video. This event of great cultural significance for Serbia and its cities is held once a year. All genres of domestic and foreign middle-length films which haven't been screened on TV are to be presented.

This Festival is unique in the region of south-east and central Europe, as well as prestige award Grand prix Golden Walnut, the one awarded to the best film.

By presenting the selection of domestic and world production of middle-length feature films this festival aims to contribute to development of film art and, at the same time, through presentation of author`s creativity, to popularize the middle-length feature film.
The Festival is open to all film authors whether they are debutants or experienced film makers.


MIDDLE – LENGТH FILM
Tone copy of the film, fiction, documentary or animated, whose length is between 30' and 60'
(820-1640m 35mm or 345-690m 16mm film).

Preselection:
 

• All domestic and foreign middle-length feature films intended for public are eligible to apply. The application must contain the producer’s or director’s approval (signature).
• The festival will accept only films made or finished in the following formats: 35mm, 16mm, Beta SP and DV.
• The runnig time of films must be more than 30 minutes and not more than 60 minutes.
• The competition are open to middle-length feature films of all genre if they were completed after January 1st, 2003.
• Pre-selection copies will not be returned but collected in the Golden Walnut video archives.
• All aplicants will have to fill in the submission form and send a preview copy of the film on DVD with english subtitle. Please mark your packages in the following manner: NO COMMERCIAL VALUE FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY
• Along with the preview copy and the subbmision form aplicants should send:
  - Synopsys in English (max 150 strokes)
  - Bio-filmography of the director in English
  - A complete dialogue list in English
  Only for the competition:
  - One still photo from the film
  - One photo of the director (portrait)
  - A brief statement by the Director about the film in English.
   
• All shipping and postage costs of the preselection copies will be borne by the applicants.
• Each filmmaker can send one film only.
