Das Leben in Berlin ist wunderbar - Part 2

[ Das Leben in Berlin ist wunderbar ]

Now it is that I have spent already couple of days in Berlin and definitely know that Eastern Berlin is more connected than the Western part.
The first two days I stayed at my friend’s apartment located near the ex-Berlin wall in a Turkish neighbourhood and all the internet was in the air. Southerners are so open and helpful although not so native. So wireless! ... Few hours ago I moved to my constant Berlin habitat near the Charlottenburg and brought my bad luck to the Anne’s (my apartment mate) modem. The connection collapsed and now I am so off the line (physically and mentally) that I can’t even stand the weather. It is changing so quickly and arbitrary – there is nothing German in that.

I am not complaining but another lack of connectivity is my failure to reach the Bulgarian academic hub here. From the very beginning I was supposed to address all my formal and organizational issues to Zornitza, a PhD student at the Arbeitsstelle für Semiotik. She is not answering my e-mails and nobody is picking up the phone. From Monday on I should try to arrange my things in the university on my own.

The good news is that just across the street there is a Russian shop called "Россия". Entering it I found out lot of stuff that I would have called “Bulgarian”…. Anyway! :)

P.S. As you can figure out from my post my problems with the internet are already set and done!

Welcome to the [Sofia] weblog, a part of the Kakanien Revisited weblog network. The Team - Dimiter, Assen and Mira - all three PhD students in the Department of History and Theory of Culture at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" will try to create an image - although sometimes a faceted and incoherent one - of the Bulgarian academia, culture, ongoing events, ideas, realities and virtual spaces. All of you - our readers - are warmheartedly invited to join us in this endeavor with your comments and suggestions.
